Our Team

Pelican Players

Located in Sun City Center, FL, the Pelican Players Community Theater "PPCT" is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that is run by community members. In operation since 1981, Pelican Players Community Theater is one of the oldest all volunteer community theaters in Hillsborough County. The purpose of PPCT is to foster active community theater, provide opportunities for dramatic expression as we pay it forward by contributing to "The Pelican Players Scholarship Fund" handled by The Community Foundation of Tampa Bay.

Since 1981, PPCT shows have graced the stage of the Kings Point Veterans Theater.  PPCT provides the opportunity to get as close to the action as you like; be an observer, or totally immerse yourself in the experience on-stage or backstage. There is not a bad seat in the house! And, of course, visitors from outside of Kings Point are ALWAYS welcome to come join the fun and watch a show.

The Board of Directors is elected by our members at an annual meeting every February. Board members volunteer their time freely in order to see PPCT succeed and to continue to provide excellent theatrical opportunities for our community. Each chair serves a three-year term. Anybody who has an interest in serving on our Board is encouraged to send a letter of interest to us.

Our current Board of Directors is as follows:

Rick Swenson, President;

James Williams, Vice President;

Kevin Steinke, Treasurer;

Joy Dunn, Secretary;

Mary Anne Moseley, Member-at-Large;

Barbara Boyle, Member-at-Large; and

Ruth Lake, Member-at-Large

WENDY SMITH ended her two full terms plus extra years completing a previous Board members term.  The majority of Wendy’s tenure was as Treasurer.

CHUCK FOELL ended his first full term, plus he finished a previous member's term.  Chuck served as Board President during this past year.  Chuck decided to not run again for a second full term.

Wendy’s and Chuck’s involvement with PPCT has been invaluable both on and off the Board.  We know they will continue being involved with PP even though they are no longer on our Board.
