Pelican Players

Located in Sun City Center, FL, the Pelican Players Community Theater "PPCT" is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that is run by community members. In operation since 1981, Pelican Players Community Theater is one of the oldest all volunteer community theaters in Hillsborough County. The purpose of PPCT is to foster active community theater, provide opportunities for dramatic expression as we pay it forward by contributing to "The Pelican Players Scholarship Fund" handled by Community Foundation Tampa Bay.

Students who are interested in applying for the Pelican Players Scholarship must be a graduating high school senior and must apply online through Hillsborough Education Foundation’s scholarship portal. Here is the link with additional information: https://educationfoundation.com/linksforstudents/senior-scholarships/

The criteria for the scholarship is:

  • Priority given to seniors at East Bay, Lennard, Newsome and Riverview High Schools

  • Must major in the area of Performing Arts

  • Must attend school of higher education within the Tampa Bay area

  • The annual time to apply for the scholarship is November 1 - January 31.

Since 1981, PPCT shows have graced the stage of the Kings Point Veterans Theater.  PPCT provides the opportunity to get as close to the action as you like; be an observer, or totally immerse yourself in the experience on-stage or backstage. There is not a bad seat in the house! And, of course, visitors from outside of Kings Point are ALWAYS welcome to come join the fun and watch a show.

The Board of Directors is elected by our members at an annual meeting every February.
